Vitis V is built on the link between science, function of skin and the regenerative power of nature. It doesn’t have to be complex to be brilliant, here’s the science, simply:

What is Linoleic acid?

Linoleic acid is an essential nutrient our skin needs but our body cannot synthesise. The definition of an essential nutrient is fundamental, indispensable and necessary. Lack of Linoleic acid is one of the reasons for water loss in the skin, which can lead to dry and dehydrated skin, flaking, roughness and increased visibility of fine lines. It is critical for the production of ceramides and used by the body to produce squalene and wax esters all required to support the softness, smoothness and suppleness of your skin.

Linoleic acid is the most important fatty acid for skin barrier function and uniquely grapeseed oil offers multi-benefits to all skin types; dry, barrier damaged, sensitive, oily, combination and acne-prone when applied topically. These include improving skin function, rebalancing oil production and strengthening the structural components of the cell membranes with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Your skin barrier maintains moisture by preventing dehydration and prevents allergens, pollution and microbes from entering and causing inflammation it is also what we present to the world. Skin function equals skin appearance.

Where does it come from?

Cold-pressed unfermented grapeseed oil, a by-product of winemaking, is one of the richest sources of Linoleic acid. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and pro-hydration properties. It cannot be produced by the body and is the predominate fatty acid in our skin.

As winemakers and sustainability advocates, we saw a dual solution: excellence for your skin and for the planet.

We source grape seeds from Australian grape growers and winemakers producing white and sparkling wine to make our own cold-pressed, unrefined, unfiltered, unfermented grapeseed oil. We then enrich this oil with polyphenols from grapeseed extract also produced by us without solvents or heat to create Vitis V—pure, clean, nutrient-rich effective skincare that is opulent, luxurious and contains powerful super antioxidants Proathocyanidins.

Why does that matter?

The highest quality grapes produce the best wine. Likewise, the best seeds produce the highest quality oil. Vitis V is built on the quality of the ingredients in our blend. Our Face TonIQ is made up of two ingredients: Australian Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil and Vitis vinifera (grape) seed extract. Simple, yes, but powerful and effective at providing essential and synergistic components for your skin.

Unlike other grapeseed oils which are highly processed to increase shelf life, ours is unfermented grapeseeds, cold-pressed unfiltered and unrefined to preserve the potency and skin benefit of the Linoleic acid concentration and the multiple sources of antioxidant activity. Vitis V is a whole oil retaining all the phytonutrients that are otherwised removed by the extraction and refinement processes of commercial production. We don’t need to phyto infuse as the selection of the seed, the cold pressing and natural settling retains the inherent phytonutrients. The Linoleic acid and entire entourage of phytonutrients are undamaged as there is no heat or solvents involved. There is no possibility of contamination or retention of any toxic chemicals. Pure Clean Nutrient-rich Essential skincare.

The lipid (fat) soluble vitamins are retained, including all eight natural analogues of Vitamin E (four tocopherols, plus four tocotrienols making the Vitamin E in Vitis V bioavailable). Beta-carotene, known as pro Vitamin A and the naturally derived chlorophyll responsible for the green hue of Vitis V is not destroyed in extraction. The Phytosterols (predominately beta–sitosterol stigmasterol and campesterol) are all preserved. It is the nutrient interactions that result in softer smoother and more supple skin. Simple ingredients but phyto complex.

We enrich the oil with polyphenol rich grapeseed extract to not only protect the lipids in Vitis V from oxidation, but also help the protection and maintenance of skin cells from damage. The known bioactive property of phenolic compounds is the antioxidant capacity. These compounds are capable of scavenging ROS (Reactive oxygen species) free radicals and inhibiting lipid oxidation. The result is a powerful balance of art and science; as important in the craft of skincare as it is in winemaking.

Our reliance on science extends to every decision we make, including the details like the protective properties of the Miron glass we bottle in to preserve potency. Vitis V is nature's luxury grounded in scientific evidence for a daily skincare essential you’ll enjoy every time. It feels good to do good for yourself and the planet.

ESSENTIAL FOR ALL SKIN TYPES, VITIS V CAN HELP:
