Ferdinand IV did not have the benefit of modern science and scientific methods and when something was unexplainable given the knowledge at the time, a magical power was attributed to it and this is the reason he referred to the grapeseed oil as an elixir.

We have the benefit of modern science, analytical techniques and years of research and can quantify the essential nutrients and compounds inherent in the unfermented grapeseeds that we use and the restorative modes of action of these compounds on skin function. We know the science and called our modern version Vitis V Face TonIQ from Vitis Vinifera, Latin for grapevines and is available to all. Section 18 of the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), provides that “A person must not, in trade or commerce, engage in conduct that is misleading or deceptive or is likely to mislead or deceive.” does give some protection to consumers. However what an individual interprets as Natural could be very different to the use of the term from a corporation or marketer, where as naturally occurring does have a legal definition.
